24th centurey motor bike

Postby Ramsay » Thu Mar 20, 2008 4:04 pm

about a year back I and a fellow simmer in ID fleet sim cam up with this concept based on the Startrek nemesis movie Argo

Technical development Concept
HARLEY.

Mission: a light weight scout vehicle to capable of improved offensive and defensive capabilities, to augment current off road vehicles supplied to federation starships (ARGO). subject vehicle also can be introduced to smaller starships not capable of supporting maintaining the dedicated heavy transport runabout such ships make up the primary number of federation starships.

Proposal Dated: 2375

analyzing these needs as well as the possible tactical operations requirements for heavy combat in support of infantry units the best possible solution is a two wheeled in line motorized concept (IE) A motor bike or Motorcycle or Moto-Slave concept of a size of
Overall Length: 84.0 in.
Overall Width: 30.0in.
Overall Height: 50.0 in.
and weight of 400 LB.

Vehicle should be equipped with an intuitive suspension, with Anti gravity technology, advanced environmentally invisible( no Pollution at all) drive system, Communications system comparable to that fitted in current vehicles. Advanced sensor systems in order to track and locate potential threats as well as aid in advanced planetary scouting operations. portable high gain shielding. and high performance systems. using modular equipment packages.

Armament systems

Standard
2x type V phaser emitters forward

1x aft mounted defensive countermeasures pod

2-4x type III Assault phaser rifles

optional hard point mounted

1x MKIII heavy Isomagnetic disintegrator cannon "Saber"

2x aft mounted photon grenade launchers "Arena"

1x type IV phaser emitter aft.

2x optional Compression phaser rifles

Other equipment

Specialized sensor fused riders safety Helmet. with night vision, synthetic aperture radar, thermal imaging, Exographic Targeting System and tricorder scanner integrating voice command interface with hands free communications.

Drive modes
Using advances in electronic vehicle control via the Intelligent Transmission systems the Harley is capable of three modes of drive
Standardized operation

Advanced speed where in the structure alters it's self for high speed use

self drive "Ghost rider" where in the unit acts as a Unmanned combat vehicle

:raises hand:

Can I jump in on this and paint a concept art of the motor bike? I need practice on vehicles...,

Ok, I'm looking into painting it, don't know when it will be done, or, for that matter, if it will be any good :) not really had a lot of practice with vehicles, hence, why I would like to take this on.

I'm working on a cover for a book I'm writing, so, it might be some time before I can get a concept out (maybe this weekend I'll see if I can doodle something). But between the book cover, building two PCs, and my work, I'm swamped with things to do. Have the time to do it, just, not enough hands..., I NEED MORE HANDS !!!!

I totally want to use this on Stargazer (SFOL), it seems really awesome.

Sure thing
I have no issues with other sims using so long as they have fun and remember to fill the tank and wash the seat.

 I forgot to start on this...,

..., is that bad. Can I use the excuse that I just built me another computer a couple of days ago and haven't really had drawing and painting on my mind more like..., OH COOL, I can play this game with all the eye candy on.

See, this is how it goes for me. I start painting, get into it for about fifteen minutes and then suddenly relize that my computer can also play games. So, hit save, close, load up game, play for hours.

I think I need help :)

Build a computer that can't play games...get a workstation video card, it'll work great for all the artistic graphics you need it to do, but won't do a lick of suitable gaming.

I need to actually have a decent video card to paint. I do all my sketches and what not on humungous size so that the brush strokes and sloppy ink jobs won't show. Try working with that on anything like a 6800 like I had and be prepared for the OS to compensate and slow your machine down.

..., plus, I really don't want to give up gaming

Well that's why you get a workstation card. They're great for painting and general graphics, they just don't do the 3d game rendering thing as great.

:( Why do you always have to be so logical Ku.

Besides, I started on this thing and all I got to do is paint it, but painting it can be a difficult process.

I'm kind of stuck on what the engine should look like though, there won't be any exhaust or anything like that, so, right now I just have it as a light source....,

I don't know about you, but for me I was picturing that the engine would be hidden, and where the exhaust ports would've been are two little guys (both sides) that are smaller looking things to what the ion engines look like.

oops, I totally just closed this without posting my reply...

Not mini-nacelles... I mean impulse engines (even though I used the incorrect Ion Engines term.. heh that's me being Star Wars) they're the drives you often see on the saucer section.

Maybe I should just spoil the entire storyline right now, it's really easy to do... and really hurts the playing of the game, cause the story is really where it's at.

...., and you would wouldn't you..., thats how deep dark and abyss-like your evil is. It holds no bounds....,

I just really don't have any ideas on the bike..., I mean, I can base it off a motorcycle, a harley, but I would think a 24 century motor bike, especially one tasked to do that sort of thing, would have gone beyond that design...,

I'll see what I can do..., I'm getting my butt handed to me by the Big Daddies of Rapture, so, I might take a break from it.

I'll do some research into this...,
