Continuing Voyages

Postby FSF Seraphim » Thu Mar 30, 2017 7:45 pm

Greetings and Salutations all. Spring Break has come and gone for some or all, and while busy schedules abound it's about time our humble ship made sail to uncharted waters! That is to say, a new Episode.

Before we set off, however, we should take stock of the crew with us.

Also if any have ideas of certain plots that might interest or involve their characters specifically, please comment in the forum or by private message! New voyages present new opportunities.

Glad to see you guys are still going, despite my lack of reliability and months long absence. I'd also like to thank, and apologize to, FSF Seraphim for my prolonged radio silence. From what I can see, Seraphim has faithfully hosted and run the sim in style...with the diligence of a Romulan, of course.

Couple things have happened in my life since we last spoke. The first is a significant ramp up at work. Some of my clients have grown dramatically, and increased their demands, resulting in uncommonly heavy travel for Yours Truly. I don't expect this to let up until the end of June.

The second thing is a new direction for what little writing time I have. Despite the brilliance of the company I kept, I found myself simply burned out on the entire Trek genre. Of late, my interest has focused on a solo writing project.

Given those two points, I can't just go on my merry way and leave you guys in doubt. So, I'm going to step down from my position as host for ST: Renaissance, and get out of the way of Seraphim, who's been running this ting without my help since the holidays. I've informed the leadership of our status, and my ultimate intent. I'm not leaving the FSF. I am, however, doing my writing up in the "General Role Play/Writing" topic.

Though I'm making it official and stepping away for now, I'll never say never. I may come join a future voyage as a cameo, a guest villain, or some other role Seraphim dreams up to help the plot along. With the work load, it just won't be in the next few months. Until then, fair winds and following seas!

Bon voyage,
FSF Sail (Just Dan)

Glad to hear from you Sail! Sorry to hear the work load's up and scheduling's tight. Hopefully been some enjoyable trips at least.

Of course, you'd always be welcome back when you can. Always enjoyed posting with you and working on a story together.

Sorry to see you go. It actually hurts more than when Gabe left. Thank you for your time, your characters, and your NPCs. They were more real than any of the characters on Trek, although that's probably due to the nature of the medium we write for.

Live long and prosper. I hope you make it to Sarek's age.

Guys, I feel like this might be a decent time to wrap things up. I love writing for my characters, but membership seems to be kind of down and everything's slowing to a halt. Maybe this is the natural point where things stop. Maybe it's time for an epilogue?

If not, I'm great with that. As soon as someone starts posting, I'll join in.

If we continue, I propose we change our name in deference to our newly departed host, to Star Trek: Infinity.

That it evokes the original name, Eternity, is, to me, inspiring of a brand or genre of simming which values character building above all. And where that energy is, we ought to have some forum for in this day & age, where great, public, volunteer science fiction can always happen.

Of course, your concern is more than appropriate. I do love this game though, over-stretched as our lives may be. But I pray it is not yet time to take this game and shoot it out back.

Hey folks,

I just wanted to let you know that I'll be back, but not for a bit. We had a death in the family, so we're wrapping some things up.

Hey folks,

After what's been a truly stressful month and change, I'm happy to say that I'm going to jump back in. I've just got to, y'know, find a spot.
