FSF Message Board Rules

1) There will be no posts with insults or implied insults directed at any simmers within the FSF.

2) There will be no posts which are rude or insulting directed at the FSF Staff.

3) There will be no bashing of policies in place.

4) Members using the board will respect each other when posting. Important!

5) Be polite, you may debate, but rudeness will not be tolerated. Flaming will, of course, not be allowed. Do not insult people on the board, period.

6) Spoilers - A spoiler is any element of any summary or description of any piece of fiction that reveals any plot element which will give away the outcome of a dramatic episode within the work of fiction, or the conclusion of the entire work. It can also be used to refer to any piece of information regarding any part of a given media. (Taken from Wikipedia) Any post that contains spoiler information should separate that section of discussion using the spoiler tags. Example:

Code: Select all
Spoiler Text Here
Which will display as:
Spoiler: show
Spoiler Text Here

7) Do not spam. Spam is defined as posting the same thing over and over in the same thread or the same post in 2 or more forums.

8) No trolling. Trolling is defined as posting remarks intended to anger another poster and or start an argument or flame war.

9) ALL CAPS. Typing in ALL CAPS is considered "shouting" in the written form. Neither posts nor subjects should ever be written in All Caps. Posts or subjects written in ALL CAPS may be edited to regular case, or possibly removed all together.

10) Signatures -- There are specific guidelines outlined for Signature length. If your signature gets too long, you may be warned and/or have it edited/deleted.

FAQ:
"What if I break the rules?"

Three official warnings will lead to an automatic one-day ban. If in the past month you had already received a one-day ban and you qualify for another one-day ban, this will change into a one-week ban. If in the past three months you had already received a one-week ban and you qualify for another one-week ban, this will change into a one-month ban. If in the past year you had already received a one-month ban and you qualify for another one-month ban, this will change into a three-month ban.

Bans will be announced in the Announcements forum, as well as per email.

Any questions on these rules should be Emailed to the Boards Director.

#6 has been updated from:

6) Spoilers - Summaries and descriptions of any form of media (TV, movies, books, etc) that has not been publicly available for at least seven days is considered a spoiler. Spoilers should either be declared in the subject line of a topic, declared at the top of each post with at least 10 blank lines following it before continuing, or the spoiler can be declared and then the text can be "Quoted" with a White font so that it must be highlighted to be visible. Example of a quoted spoiler:
Spoiler text here

#10 is not new, but has been added to this specific list as a reference to the correct topic.
